LAMELLAE lamp series

Along with the CLOVE lamp, the LAMELLAE series was developed simultaneously as a possible fixture for the West Jackson Workshops. This series shares a similar degree of parametric variability and control available within the digital model, but also exploits the material properties of thin wood veneer. By varying the degree of twist, the number, size, and spacing of individual lamella louvers, these lamps achieve a delicate modulation of light and visibility as well as a gradient glow which emanates through the thin veneer. The twisting of the wood louvers also produces a material resistance that in turn gives the lamp a subtle overall torque.
