Barrier Island Slat Stair nearing completion…
Just a quick update on the Barrier Island Slat Stair I designed/detailed for the Sanders Pace Barrier Island House . As shown in the photos, it’s just about complete (as is the rest of the project) and looking quite nice. Finished images will be up as soon as the project wraps up!
A few more images after the break…..
Bayou-Luminescence
I’ve been quite busy the last several weeks - along with my regular teaching schedule at CCA, I’ve been working on fabricating an installation for the upcoming DesCours event in New Orleans. The project, Bayou-Luminescence is a collaboration between PATH and Igor Siddiqui of isssstudio. In short, it aims to fuse material surface, structural volume and lighting effects into an immersive spatial experience. That’s all for now - keep checking back for updates. Hopefully we’ll put together some extensive design, fabrication and assembly posts once the project is wrapped up.
Knoxville Bridge
PATH recently completed several images of a new proposed pedestrian and bicycle bridge in Knoxville, TN as a rendering+visualization consultant along with Sanders | Pace Architecture. The bridge is still in early planning stages, but has been fairly well received by the community.
You can read more about it here:

ERCuSi-A Tests
Just a few pics from some recent TIG welding tests using ERCuSi-A alloy filler rod (Silicon Bronze) for welding mild steel together. While the Silicon Bronze has a lower tensile strength (50,000 PSI) compared to common “mild” steel ER70 S-2 filler (83,000 PSI) it should be fine for many non-structural applications. It also maintains it’s golden-coppery color when applying patina to the adjacent steel surfaces! Click on for the results…

Prouvé wannabes
This lamp (completed fairly recently as a finished prototype/one-off) may seem somewhat of a nostalgic take on Prouvé’s classic Potence Lamp given his interest in contemporary and forward thinking manufacturing processes (Prouvé would probably be into some cutting edge stuff were he around today), but we’re fine with that. It’s a clean and simple fixture using a Muuto E27 Pendant Lamp as part of the design.
