This was an elective grad/undergrad course for the CCA Architecture program (Spring 2015)
Material Assemblage / CCA
Architecture is seldom composed of homogeneous or singular materials - more often it deals with assemblage, or the bringing together of diverse and disparate materials in complementary ways. This course will explore the idea of assemblage through a series of experimental prototypes and components by leveraging a range of fabrication strategies. Our studies will focus on physical making, exploring opportunities of exchange between traditional analog techniques and emerging digital ones. Parametric tools and their use in computer aided manufacturing will frame the courses emphasis on fabrication and design-through-making.
